I'm Juan Derch, a nature and documentary photographer based in Bogotá, Colombia. For over ten years, I've been working in the field — from Andean páramos to the Amazon rainforest, from the Ecuadorian Chocó to Colombia's coastlines — documenting the wildlife and ecosystems that make this part of the world one of the most extraordinary places on earth. My work is grounded in conservation, built on collaboration with biologists and researchers, and driven by a simple belief: that a photograph can make someone care about something they've never seen. This is that work.
